Wright and wrong

I don't understand this support for the Wright amendment, I mean apart from those who have a vested interest in DFW that is.

How do other cities 'protect' their international airports? How does Houston have Hobby and an international?

It's pretty easy to see through Texas congresspersons who support the Wright Amendment. It stopped being about protecting the viability of D/FW a long time ago. Now it's all about protecting the viability of American Airlines, a big local corporation who is based out of D/FW Airport. That's why I was shocked when two Dallas Republican congressman who normally bend over backwards for corporations introduced a bill that would get rid of Wright. I applaud them loudly. Competition is good right? Wright.

I just want to fly SWA from Dallas to St. Louis without having to stop in OKC. Is that so wrong? It is a stupid act. They need to get rid of it!

Oh, now Dallas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson wants to keep the Wright amendment to protect minority owned businesses at D/FW Airport. She actually wants to close down Love Field!!! What about all the minorities and folks like john_clarke who live in Dallas and can only afford to take the much cheaper Southwest flights out of Love Field?
